Luck is working overtime for Tamannah, you can say. The actress, who witnessed her career graph reaching the skies in 2009, is all set to continue the good show in 2010 too.

If sources are to be believed, the petite beauty has been roped in to romance Silambarasan for ‘Ko’, a film directed by K V Anand. Remember it was the same director who made ‘Ayan’ with the same Tamannah as heroine.

The title ’Ko’ means king in Tamil. The movie produced by S Kumar and R Jayaraman of RS Infotainment, who are currently producing ’Vinnaithandi Varuvaya’, would be an out and out commercial entertainer, sources say.

‘Ko’ brings together Anand, writer-duo Subha and Harris Jayaraj again after the success of ’Ayan’. Peter Hein will choreograph stunt sequences. Shooting would commence after Pongal.

The chemistry between Karthi and Tamannah in Paiyaa

“Whenever Tamil cinema is caught in a specific trend, colourful films would come and steal the show. Mani Ratnam’s ‘Agni Natchathiram’ and Goutham Menon’s ‘Minnale’ are perfect examples to it. ’Paiyaa’ would be one more in the list," says the film’s director Lingusamy.

Claiming that raw and rustic movies have become the order of the day, the filmmaker says, "Paiyaa would be fresh, stylish and contemporary. Each and every scene would stand testimony to the above."

On the lead pair Karthi and Tamannah, he says, "Suriya, in his address at the audio launch of ’Paiyaa’, said the chemistry between Karthi and Tamannah reminds him the ’Kaakka Kaakka’ lead pair (Suirya and Jyothika). It is cent per cent true. The duo is so fresh"

Discussing on his production ventures, Lingusamy says, "I am getting ready to produce two movies, one directed by Balaji Sakthivel with new faces, and the other by Boopathy Pandian with Silambarasan in the lead."

Reiterating that his next directorial venture would be with Vijay, he says, "Vijay was very much impressed by the story I narrated to him. The film would go on floors once the other things are finalised. The movie would be a different one for Vijay."

Kanden Kadhalai, remake of the Hindi superhit Jab We Met which received good responses from audiences, has completed 50 days in theatres. Directed by Kannan and produced by Moser Baer along with Ocean Blue, the film stars Tamannaah and Bharath in lead roles.

This fun-filled romance was released by Sun Pictures. Santhanam’s Mokkai Rasu character which was included for comic relief was well-appreciated by all. Though the film is a remake, the entire credit goes to the director, who has worked hard to adapt the story for Tamil audiences. Actress Tamannaah has won the prestigious Shantaram Award

Actress Tamannaah has won the prestigious Shantaram Award for her 2008 Telugu venture Konchem Ishtamga Konchem Kashtamga. Reports says that she is only South Indian actress to have won a Shantaram award.

Director Kishore Kumar won the award for the Best Debut Director for the same movie. The award was announced on 13th December. The Rajkamal Academy of Cinematic Excellence (RACE) is sponsoring these awards for the last 15 years annually in memory of the legendary filmmaker V. Shantaram.

“The winners in different categories of the awards would be announced on December 21 in Mumbai,” says Kiran Kumar Shantaram, Chairman RACE. Shantaram is a powerful Hindi cinema name, so awards named after him definitely carry great value.

The Shantaram awards are given to film talents all over India. Last year, it was an A Wednesday show at the awards.
